Perfect shade for my skin tone
Date:November 14, 2013
Best For even coverage long wear
I have searched many brands for my perfect match. at one i considered mixing two shades just so that i get the look i was looking for. When Estee Lauder came out with new shades i was eager to try them. I was hoping that then i will finally find the right shade. I finally found the perfect match! No more blending down to my collar bone! Thank you Estee Lauder for making your shade choices more broad.
What was wrong with the Double Matte that you used to carry?! It wore much better. This stuff is horrible. Definitely does NOT stay in place. And even just a couple of hours in it looks like I'm wearing clown makeup. It kind of pools on my face in the oily spots. Why can't you bring back the double matte? I'm done with Este Lauder until they bring back my favorite, for many years now, makeup. Don't buy this product.
Finally I have found a foundation that keeps my oil slick t-zone well covered all day. Fantastic coverage, not cakey. Keeps shine under control all day without looking dried out or slipping. A little difficult to blend initially but it does on perfectly if I apply oil free moisturizer then apply foundation with my fingers before it's dry. I use a foundation brush to blend the edges to finish. I don't even use powder any more! Love this stuff!!!
Natural, Flawless Finish...lasts for hours. My oily T-Zone is under control and I did not even have to powder my nose. No touch-ups what so ever throughout the day. I love wearing this and I can honestly say that I have found the most perfect foundation. My skin looks PERFECT! I have fallen asleep without taking my make up off...and woke up to perfect skin...I do not EVER recommend not removing your make up, but to prove a point...this stuff is amazing!
Bring back the old Formula! My face is so dry with this new double wear. Why did you change it? You owe it to your long time loyal customers to bring back the old double wear. I get your emails and hope to hear from you that you brought back the old formula. In the mean time I have heard from my daughter and friends that Lancome has an excellent line of face lotions and foundations. I will try their products untll you guys wise up and bring back the great old double wear formula.
Yet again, Estee Lauder is changing product. The changes to DW are yet another in a long line of disappointments from this company. Lauder is the only make-up I have ever worn and have recommended it to countless people. I was even a Lauder counter manager for a couple of years. First they discontinue Fruition, then they "reformulate" (water-down) ANR, and now they "reformulate" DW and discontinue shades that we all have worn for years....mine was Linen.
I cannot begin to say how disappointing the quality of your products have become over the last few years. There is something to be said for staying true to your products and quality. This is something we all have come to expect over the decades. What a shame.
I can honestly say, this is the last straw for me. In an age where things are constantly changing, I just for the life of me can't figure out why you can't leave your quality and trust of your customers alone. After over 30 years, I'm sad to say you are forcing me to look elsewhere for skincare. Major disappointment.
I know there have been a lot of negative reviews but I have to say I like the new formula better. The original formula worked for me for a long time but eventually started caking up on me by the afternoon. It looked great when I walked out the door but by the time I got home it was cakey and dry. Anyone even slightly close to me (as in across the table in a meeting) would see a not-so-smooth complexion.
For me, the new formula is very nice. The colors are definitely different but I've actually found a better match. It goes on smoothly, is not so dry that I can't set with powder, and holds up all day (other than a little sliding around the nose) and no more cakiness.
My skin is more normal, not excessively oily, so perhaps that's why this works well for me but overall I'm happy with the product.
Best For nothing, throwing away, changing back to old formula.
New formula horrible...used to get compliments on my skin all the time..when I used the old formulla purchased one bottle of new formula...It made my skin look drawn, not soft like old Double Wear and also like I had a facial mask on it...pulling my face like they do. I can not wear this and will not buy any more. I loved the old formula...who in the world talked you into the new terrible formula....listen to your customers and change the formula back please......you have lost many because of the not so brilliant change.
I am not happy with the new formula of Double Wear foundation. First, they eliminated 1C1 Shell, the lightest color they used to have--and a perfect match for my pale skin. I used it for years. The lightest color is now 1C1 Cool Bone and it is darker and more orangy. Second, the new formula makes me break out.The old formula was drier--you had to work fast to blend it--but it didn't irritate my skin.
I will be returning the 1C1 Cool Bone foundation. Perhaps the new formula will work better for some people, but considering the vast number of negative reviews since the change? Estee Lauder should consider making both versions.
please please sell Shell Level 1-Cool in the stores. It is the best color ever. So glad we can order it on line but must must sell in stores also. To let your loyal customers know they can buy that color again. Shell is very popular for very fair skin. Love the little bit of pink color in it. The Bone color is too yellow for most people. Please keeping making SHELL Level 1-Cool color.Thank you
I don't understand the negative comments on this amazing product but I never used the old formula. That being said, I cannot fathom how it could be any better than what I purchased (Pebble). It has fantastic coverage, is light feeling, doesn't settle in my fine lines and lasts all day into the night. I wore it in Orlando in 90+ degree heat and humidity (from 10:00am to 11:00pm) and even with me sweating like a farm animal, it DID NOT BUDGE! I thought for sure when I got back to my hotel that my reflection would be a splotchy, shiny mess and it wasn't! It was like I had just applied it! I use it with a luminous primer and my face glows! It is a tad drying but moisterizer fixes that. I love it and it's definitely my HG of foundation. Estee, please don't change a thing!
This used to be a great foundation until they changed the formula. Too thin and color is off. Everyone reading this who agrees with me, be sure to write a review and give it the STAR it deserves. It seems that that the decision makers at Estee Lauder are not listening to their clients. Maybe once they see their sales drop and see all of the negative reviews accompanied by the 1 star and actually read our reviews maybe, just maybe they will listen to us and realize they had a great product that made a lot of women feel beautiful, happy, and who didn't mind spending almost $40 on a bottle of foundation because it actually WORKED!!! BTW....getting rid of the Double Matte line was a kick to my gut and sneaky with no forewarning to your clients. smh
