I love the extreme violet. But I was told that this is only available at a limited time, so I bought 2. And I wish this is in WATERPROOF formula. Waterproof is the only formula that will keep my lashes stay curled all day until I remove it. So I put this on top of my black water proof mascara. BUMMED that this is being discontinued!

I love this mascara. If you know me, I am huge on both length and volume when it comes to eyelashes. This mascara has delivered both with even one swipe. For a more dramatic look, I add two to three coats. No clumps or smudges either! My eyelashes stay soft all day.

I liked the sample rec'd when I purchased other makeup....so, ordered the full size, and have had it several weeks now. It's pretty good to go on smoothly, with some clumps and "blotches" that are the result of the "scrubber" not getting rid of all excess mascara as the wand passes out of the top of the tube. So, I find myself wiping off the excess mascara on the tube at the top where the wand comes out. It does last all day and night, no smudging. It does seem somewhat water resistant and does not run easily.
I would recommend it to someone, like myself, that has tried, literally, everything else!

I have used this mascara for over a year now and I love it. it is easy to apply, does not clump, does not run if I cry and looks great all thru my work day and into the night. I am 50 and have tried every mascara on the market over the years and I am extremely happy that I found Estee Lauder's.

This mascara clumps terribly. I even tried cleaning off the brush, thinking it must be something I did. I tried it wth and without the primer. I have used this in the past and loved it. Maybe I got an old product from the back of the warehouse or they have cheapened the formula. What a mess. Now I am shopping around again.

I've worn the Violet for two days. Very easy to apply, doesn't flake, doesn't smudge. Very nice. Comes off at night without a fight. All this and compliments on my eyes while wearing it. I've never worn a mascara that I've fallen in love with, but I tell you, I love this one.

Best For: all the time
This is great mascara! It is nice and thick, but the brush is such that it coats my stumpy eyelashes very well! I have several colors of the Sumptuous Extreme - I bought the "special edition colors" earlier this winter. I hope they bring them back!

Best For: leaving you with britttle stubby clumpy lashes .
Decided to try this "lash multiplying volume" formula. My lashes are short, but I'm basically looking for volume in my mascara. I also utilize the lash primer. My lashes became shorter with each use and the mascara was worse than the cheapest drugstore brand I ever tried in my youth! At 60, clumpy, nasty flakes and stiff, stubby lashes have been my disappointing experience with this particular EL mascara. I can neither recommend it nor will I continue to utilize it. I just hope my lashes, which were obviously damaged by this formulation, will at least return to their previous status: short, but thick and healthy--quite unlike this mascara has left them! Returning it after I speak with Customer Service about the issues I incurred with this product...

I received a sample size of this mascara in a skincare kit I purchased. At first, it just sat in my makeup drawer untouched, but when my go-to mascara dried out on me today, I gave it a try && WOOOOW!!! I am so surprised that this mascara is not more talked about.
I love the look of false lashes but it takes way too much time in morning so I'm a big fan of mascaras that promise volume, but i LOATHE mascara that achieve volume by clumping your lashes together. This one is PERFECTION!! Loads of volume and zero clumping. I just curled once, applied the masacara and it held my curl ALL DAY! the only complaint I have is that because the brush is so big, it does leave a few marks near your lash line, but it is easily wiped away with a q-tip.
I will not be repurchasing my old go-to mascara && will definitely be stocking up on this one!!

I never could wear black mascara as it looked too harsh and made me look older. But EXTREME BLACk in Sumptuous Extreme mascara is a whole different thing. It's such a deep black that it makes your eyes "pop" and actually looks good on me. It is also extremely thicking and creates great fullness with the very first sweep on. One coating is plenty. It does tend to "racoon eye" a little bit, but no worse than other mascara's. The depth of color and fullness (great brush) are enough to make me ok with minimal racoon eye. I tried the "smudge proof" mascara and it flakes rather than smudges, which is no better.

I've tried most of the EL mascaras. DoubleWear has been my favorite so far, but I think I've abandoned it for Sumptuous Extreme. It makes my lashes look *so* long, and it goes on so smoothly and evenly. I always use Lash Primer - don't know if that makes a difference - but I have had zero problems with clumping. And it stays on FOREVER.

I have never used a mascara that is good as this. It thickens and lengthens my eyelashes. Also, I wear contact lenses and this mascara does not add a film to them, as some mascaras do.

I really like this mascara. At first I thought the brush was ridiculously huge but it wasn't at all hard to handle. I love the way it looks and it really DOES "multiply" my lashes. As always, I love Estee Lauder!

Worst Mascara

I bought this mascara on a bit of a whimp, having bought many good E.L. products before, however this simply did not deliver. Total waste of money. The formula is RUNNY Extreme not Sumptuous Extreme. It gets everywhere and does not separate lashes at all. I would not recommend this mascara.
