Holes too small
Date:March 2, 2013
The holes are too small in the plastic top. What I did was to take a small punch and a hammer and (carefully) enlarge the holes. Works fine now and saves a lot of time in the morning. But we shouldn't have to do this....Estee Lauder should do this.
Best For Air-brushed Effect, Pore Minimizing, Long-wear, Line-minimizing, Oil-control, Reducing Shine
This is the best loose powder I have ever tried. I was a long time user of Perscriptives, but they don't have kiosks anymore so I had to find a new loose powder. I tried quite a few until coming across Estee Lauder. I'm fair skinned and sometimes even light shades turn "orange-ish" on me, so I prefer the translucent shade. Very light, even coverage and I don't find my skin as oilly as it used to be by late afternoon. This will forever be my new powder!
I love this powder and have used it for years. I am 67 years old and this powder gives just the right finish for my skin. However, I have a problem with the "sifter" on this latest packing. It clogs which results in my having to enlarge the holes. The former sifter was just right for shaking out the proper amount of powder.
I love this powder, it is light-yet covers and holds make up. Sifter is too small on the new product. I bought a new one prior to my old one running out, so I washed out the old holder and put the new product into it. Great for traveling as the screw on lid prevents the powder from getting "loose" and going everywhere.
I've used this powder for many, many years. And every time I open a new package, I long to see a different sifter. But alas, I was once again disappointed. Estee Lauder has the best loose powder on the market, but with a terrible sifter. I don't have the time each morning to shake and bang the package trying to get enough powder to come through. I purchased another brand of powder just to obtain their sifter, which works beautifully.
Yes, I love this loose powder. Even though I'm a baby-boomer, I'm always on the run, but I do work to look good. I've been using this powder for as long as I can remember and love it so much, I've not wanted to try anything else for a long time. Normally powders applied to set your foundation look dry and make your wrinkles and pores stand out because of the dryness. Such isn't the case with this powder. Very little is needed after applying your foundation to set it for the entire day. I don't have oily skin and that may help. I love the fact that it doesn't dry out your skin and it doesn't maximize wrinkles like others do.
I just got back into setting my makeup with a loose powder. Actually, lately I've been just wearing a tinted moisturizer with powder over it to make it look a little more polished. This powder is lovely. Very, very finely milled, so that it just seems to blend right in - no overly powdery look. My skin is dry and this doesn't seem to enhance that or to settle into any lines. It has a pleasant scent that isn't too overpowering. The color I purchased was the translucent one, since I wasn't quite sure which of the colored ones would work best. The container is huge and will last a long time, as I don't use much, so it's worth the price. The container is packed VERY full, and the shaker holes in the top are small, so initially it is hard to get the product to come out - removing the puff, putting the lid back on, and then turning upside down and tapping a few times works well. If I ever run out, I would buy again!
So light on your skin ... you never feel it! It imparts a truly flawless finish (I use after foundation & makeup) and lends a soft look to skin. I have used when in a hurry without foundation and it works wonderfully. Additionally, it photographs exceptionally well, for anyone interested! No oily, shiny or dulling effects. If you are looking for soft and natural, this is your powder. It even works well with foundation and/or concealer to reduce redness and notice of blemishes. I have very fair, sensitive skin and this powder did not irritate at all. Highly recommend it!
This product delivers. If you have oily or combination skin it is just right. Put it on with the puff in the morning after your foundation and it will keep your makeup in place and ALL shine away for the whole day. We had 80 degree weather with 95% humidity and it held up. I used the product that did not have a shade and that works good for me.
i have been wondering if nobody complains about this horrible prickly puff it comes with. I give five starts to Powder: i am not a estee lauder user really, but i cannot survive without this powder. i am so afraid, and must stock up - yes, that much i like it. but do something with puff, please. make it with cotton instead of polyester.
Reading most of the reviews, I saw that most of the users of this product were older. I'm 16 and have been using this powder for 3 years! It's honestly the best powder I've tried. I don't wear foundation, but I do use this to even out my skin tone and keep the oil from showing. I love it and hate going with out it.
I agree with the others - you can get nothing out of the tiny holes in the "filter". I just removed it and dip my brush directly into the loose powder, then tap off the excess back into the jar. But I like the powder itself, and it smells wonderful!
If you use Double Wear Max cover NONE of these powders will work well with it. I'm on my third choice in the color wheel and again it's a no go. Costly game to be playing .. Hope this product works better with E.L's other foundations.
I chose the light instead of transparent and I'm glad I did. I can use it without foundation and gives a nice finish. Good coverage! I just wish that they would do something about the puff . It just doesnt work well. A brush is better.
