I have always had a problem with smudges under my eyes from mascara. Finally, I have found one that does not smudge!

More than one coat flakes off

Best For: daytime use, single coat only
Using black, which is average in color and intensity compared to the gorgeous intense black of Sumptuous Extreme. One coat glides on beautifully...looks completely natural with lashes separated into layers. Each lash is perfectly coated and separated, looks great. 2nd coat still looks good, but begins to glob a little. Third coat globs badly. Using 2 coats I get flaking all over my eyes and face. I would suggest ONLY using one coat, for daytime use. Not for heavy application as it will flake off. Hardly any racoon eye at all unless wearing a heavy application for a long period, but you will get flaking before that.

For a mascara that is not supposed to smudge, it flakes really bad. It's almost as if the mascara is old.

Not as good as More Than Mascara

I got the double wear mascara because I thought it may be the same as More Than... but after using it a few days it is good but Does not seem to cover as well as the More Than mascara..I'll use this but go back to my old faithful.

Best For: long eyelashes
I have long eyelashes and have struggled to find a mascara that doesn't give me dark smudges underneath my eyes halfway through the day. Double wear does the trick! The mascara stays where it should - on my lashes!

This mascara more than exceeded my expectations. It goes on very smoothly, and stays put! It still looked great after 12 hours of competing at a horseshow in high humidity with temperatures in the 90's. If it lasted through that, it will last through anything. I will definitely buy this mascara again.

My green eyes and freckled Irish complexion make brown mascara a requirement for a natural look. I should NOT have purchased this supposedly Brown mascara online. It is much closer to black. It also causes some smudging when I use it with Estee Lauder's wonderful Resilience eye cream. The applicator's bristles are too short to separate lashes properly. I wasted $22.

This is the ONLY mascara I've ever used - includng another Estee Lauder product - that doesn't smudge as the day goes on. It looks really nice even after a long day at work. My only complaint is that it does tend to clump on the lashes during application. I find that when that happens I have to use an eyebrow comb to separate the lashes and even out the clumps.

This mascara is the BEST I've used in years!!! It has all the staying power of a waterproof mascara but washes off fairly easily with just soap and water. I have very oily skin, and most mascaras end up under my eyes after only a few hours. I started to use primer and while it helped some, most mascaras would still give me raccoon eyes. Waterproof mascaras worked but were hard to get off and required yey makeup remover which would irritate my eyes. This is the best of both! I will surely continue to buy it!

I have tried so many mascaras over the past 25 years - from drug store brands to high end brands, and have finally found the BEST one for me! It truly does what it says it will do. I've found many mascaras that do a good job of lengthening, thickening, curling, darkening, etc. But the only one that has actually been smudge-proof is this one! Even waterproof ones would give me raccoon undereyes. Yeah they were waterproof, but I still got undereye smudges. EL's Double Wear Mascara is amazing and long wearing. On workdays I have my makeup on from 5 am til 9 or 10 pm, and my skin is oily and this mascara stays smudge free. I've tried a couple of other EL mascaras and they were just okay, but this one does everything a mascara should!

Clumpy!

Not only did this mascara not lengthen my lashes, but it clumped terribly. Big globs came out and my lashes would stick together. I spent too much extra time getting the excess off from around my eyes. I threw the sample out after three days. Terrible product, will never buy.

Mascara that grabs every lash!

I LOVE this mascara. I feel it always is able to grab every lash and coats it. I don't feel that this stuff every really clumps up. It only did a very little amount on my wedding day,.. but I had at least five layers on.
This mascara is also amazing because I don't get flakes all over my cheeks or dark rings around my eyes. It really lasts a long time. You can even rub your eyes a little bit and expect it to not screw up all your make-up.

I love the fact that this mascara doesn't smear under my eyes during the day and that's why I continue to go back to it, but I don't like the fact that about a week after first using the product, it already seems dried out. I wish EL could fix that part of the product......

I received a sample size of this product and am amazed at the results. I have thinning lashes but this mascara not only lengthened them but they appear thicker and fuller and as promised - no smudging.

Every other brand gives me racoon eyes- and I am talking about the expensive brands...but not Double Zero from Estee Lauder, I can go from early morning into the late night and there are never any black circles under my eyes- I would say Double Zero mascara is pretty amazing!
