I tried this in the Aerin fragrance coffret, and have to say it was my least favorite. I was very surprised because I generally love rose fragrances and thought it would be my top pick. I am a fragrance junkie and have tried and owned more than some stores carry. Therefore, I have an appreciation for all types of fragrances even if they don't work for me personally. Evening Rose is reminiscent of the classics and does have a very "rich" fragrance. Makes me think of a wealthy woman wrapped in fur out for a night of dinner and the ballet or opera or something equally fancy -- exactly the life that Estee Lauder probably led. It's quite strong and the cognac note is much more prevalent on me than the rose. I would think this would be well suited for cool weather and evenings out, but never for hot weather or anytime you might be working in an enclosed space with someone. Overall, it's a very powerful, elegant, entrance making fragrance -- just a little too powerful for me.
This is a beautiful bottle, the design is so unique. You only need a little spray of this scent on . It is like a fine perfume, last all day. You can smell all the notes in this . Its so different than any other parfume out there. I would like to try the Lilac scent next. I love her products. Very classy and lady like.
The rose top note disappeared quickly on me and left a strong woodiness behind. It's darker and more dramatic than most rose scents - definitely more of an evening and winter scent. My favorite of the 5 Aerin fragrances.
This fragrance is great if you like elegant perfumes that are not run-of-the-mill mall fragrances. It has wonderful rich rose accords that lend a voluptuous feel. The rose blended with cognac, blackberry, and incense is so beautiful. The incense is not an in your face incense, but adds a warm depth. This will be a permanent favorite of mine!
