Best For: perfect looking skin
This foundation gives me the most smoothest finish and I haven't even used it over a primer yet. My face looks so soft and like as if I have perfect skin. I was a little worried about the color matching my complexion as I have strong yellow undertones and it's hard to find a foundation that isn't too pink or ashy looking. I'm in the color 4.0 and it's a perfect match!!! I've never been more happy about a foundation and will use this for as long as this is available which I hope is forever.

Any one who dares to purchase Estée Lauder Double Wear Light will find that she looks amazingly beautiful!
The coverage is flawless. I receive so many compliments on how beautiful my skin is. It is if they can't even tell that I am wearing makeup. I highly recommend this product and I sincerely hope that Estée Lauder never changes this brand, color, or product!

I haven't tried wearing foundation since probably 1995 and I HATED the way it felt. Since then I've been using powdered makeup. I have been missing out! This foundation is so lightweight and airy, not cakey or gross at all! I love how sheer it is, I can use it just where I need it and I don't end up with a line on my face. I should also mention that I have EXTREMELY acne prone skin and every makeup on the planet seems to make me break out. So far this hasn't caused one single breakout! Yay!

This makeup that I recently ordered seems like a different formula than the one that came in the kit. It also does not have
the SPF in it like the one in the kit. I dont' think it is the same, its good but not as good as the one in the kit was. In florida it is important to wear spf in your makeup, don't know why they changed such an important factor.

Best Foundation Ever!

I've been using this foundation for many years. It the best - last all day and gives great coverage. I was worried when I heard the formula might have changed but an EL rep online has confirmed that the formula is unchanged and that the wording "SPF 10" had to be taken off the packaging due to FCA regulations. I've heard this more than once so I assume this is true.

I have worn Double Wear for years, since the mid-90's. But as I got older, it was too heavey and did not look good on my skin anylonger. Then about 2 years ago, I discovered Double Wear Light. LOVED IT!! It was light and fresh and felt great on my face and lasted all day long!! The last tube I purchased went on cakey and heavy and looked just like the Double Wear in the Bottle used to?? It does not even last as long!! What is up with that?? Please bring back the original formula as I am forced to try and find aother solution for my foundations!!

I finally found double wear light 4 yrs ago and love love it. Just bought a new tube and now no spf. I have very fair skin. I don't understand why EL has discontinued the spf. Love this makeup!!

i'm very upset that the Sunscreen has been removed. Why would you do that? I now have to find a replacement elsewhere because this was the only foundation I loved. Not happy!

Where is the SPF?

I've used Double Wear Light since Estee Lauder released it. One of the reasons is that the sunscreen was included in the product. When you live in a hot and humid city like Houston, TX, makeup applied after using any moisturizer (which is now the only way to get sunscreen with your foundation) just melts off my face. I'll look for another foundation that includes sunscreen now.

I bought this to use when I was traveling and wanted to look good all day and also read that it is good in photographs. Boy was that right!
This makeup. Especially paired with Estée Lauder lucidity powder or double wear powder lasts all day and looks so natural in photos.
My only complaint is the lightest color is still very dark they almost need a shade 0.5 as the 1.0 is darkish for my fair skin.
I just blend it very well and it covers my uneven areas and or blemishes very well.

BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA

I've been wearing foundations in the Double Wear line for years. First the regular DW then the DW Light when it was introduced. The old formula was great, but the new one doesn't cover or last as well. They apparently are telling customers (at the makeup counters in the dept. stores anyway) that there was no change to the formula -- only that the packaging/label was changed. I bought a bottle of the new stuff -- not even noticing that anything was new about it. All I noticed was that my coverage wasn't as good and that by the end of the day it was not good at all. The old formula would last beautifully! Sorry, but I won't be buying this one ever again either... unless they change it back.

This is hands down the best foundation I've ever used! It makes my skin look flawless and gives me a healthy glow. It wears really well but comes off easily with makeup remover at the end of the day. My only complaint is that I'm very pale and shade #1 is a touch dark in the winter but not so much so that it's obvious. It doesn't make pores or fine lines more noticible which is a huge plus also. I've been using this for several years, I hope it's never discontinued!

I literally have tried everything. My skin is so oily and makeup feels disgusting to me. I get really tan in summer but in winter, what to do?! I'll tell you: get Double Wear Light, get a sponge, wet it, put a touch of this foundation on the sponge, dab it over forehead, cheeks, chin, nose, and spread thinly. Done! I never thought I would ever find a makeup I could endorse.

At first I thought this was not opaque enough to be much better than nothing. But, when I caught myself in a mirror later in the day, I decided it actually looked pretty good. Better than I'd been looking!

I have been using this product for 5 years now and am very disappointed to find they changed the formula and removed the SPF. Granted it was little but I liked having the extra protection. Will be switching to a new foundation, probably not EL as I am unhappy that they would remove the SPF.

This is just about a perfect foundation.
It provides awesome coverage & covers my redness and uneven skin tone. But it's also not heavy or cakey looking. It's also extremely long wearing; I can apply it in the morning and have it last through the end of my work day and into the evening. I'll touch up with some powder mid day but that's all. I have combo oily skin & this formula also is wonderful for my skin. I don't get greasy through out the day, but Double Wear Light doesn't give that thick, matte finish that I usually need to wear long and not look oily on me.
I don't know why they took out the SPF, but that doesn't bother me. The SPF 10 it used to have was no where near enough protection on it's own and we don't apply near enough foundation to provide protection anyways. You honestly do need separate SPF protection and even if your foundation has a little, it's just extra IMO.

NO SPF!!

This product no longer contains SPF which is necessary to protect our skin from sun damage! Unfortunately, I will be switching to a different brand of makeup for half the cost with the same benefits PLUS SPF!
