I have been using this foundation for over ten years. I live in Poland, but I do my Estee Lauder shopping when I visit the US. You can buy Estee Lauder products in Poland but they are much more expensive. I must admit the new shades are not a problem for me. I always buy a few different shades and mix them, depending on the seson of the year. This way I have been always able to create perfect match for my skin tone regardless of how tan or pale I am. A far as the texture and quality of the new version is concerned - I find it as good as ever. It may be giving a bit less coverage now, buy I find it beneficial since it provides more natural look.

Double Wear Color Change

I am thoroughly comfused with the new color numbe changes. I have always worn 2C1 Dusk and now being told that the new number is 3C1 Dusk. I knew right from the beginning that the color was not the same as what I am used to wearing. I tried to tell the the Estee Lauder Clerk that I knew that this was not the same color but I basically was told that Estee Lauder changed their numbers and this is the new number for what I wear. I think more than the numbers were changed, I believe that apparently the color has been changed as well. So now I have got to make another trip to the store and go through the process of trying to find my original shade that I love. Sorry don't mean to be so negative and I still love my Estee Lauder products and could not imagine wearing anything but Estee Lauder. I wish there had been a better way to handle the new color shades. I will still continue to purchase Estee Lauder but a

Best For: probably all skin-especially oily/combo, acne/oily/combination
I have been looking for a liquid foundation that gives full coverage and doesn't create more lines around my eyes. I recently developed acne as an adult, so finding a long-wearing makeup that covers and looks natural is impossible. I stand corrected, was impossible until I tried a sample of 4W1 honey bronze. I am matched as a 3 in double wear, but the 4W1 matched the gold and pink in my skin perfectly! I set with the double wear powder in 3W2 Cashew and hello perfection at last! I didn't even use concelear under my eyes! I'm so glad I didn't give on getting the right color for my skintone. I feel beautiful again!

I was a little worried when I ordered this. I had read some of the reviews complaining that Estee Lauder had changed the "formula". I agree, they did change it and FOR THE BETTER! I use less of the Double Wear than I did previously, the coverage is great and it lasts all day. I love it!

Best For: everyday wear
I have worn double wear for 15 years. When I first discovered it, the coverage was slightly heavier and it did seem to control oil better, but regardless this is still the best foundation on the market. When I first wore DW there was a colour (can't remember the name of it), which was the lightest shade and was PERFECT for my very pale British skin. The colours were then changed, and I switched to shell which isn't perfect but I can live with it. When shell was dropped, leaving me with no suitable shade, I shopped around extensively to try and find an alternative, to no avail. I emailed EL with my concerns (along with many others, it seems) and colour shell is being reinstated! Hurrah! I was also sent a complimentary bottle. Excellent customer service, and excellent product!

I have used DW for 25 years!...I have very sensitive skin and this was the only makeup I could EVER use. Now that they have changed the product...I cannot wear it. It doesn't cover like it did, it makes my face oily and clogs my pores, and it melts by the end of the day like any other foundation. This was not a good choice, for your company to have changed the ingredients in this product. I want the old back!!....I am now in the market (once again) to find the best foundation for my skin ...After 25 years, I never dreamed I would have to go through this again.

EL Please Bring Back Original DW in Linen!

Over 15 years ago, I bought 1W2 Linen DW and have worn it since. I absolutely loved the lasting power, the oil control in T-zone and the perfect color match for my skin. Now Linen shade is gone and apparently many other features about the makeup itself have changed. No other shades work for me in DW. EL please listen to your customers and bring back the original product. Also it does sound like the new product works for some so I'm glad for them. Would be nice to have two different products for the needs of all these ladies that are writing. I'm trying Double Wear Light Intensity 1.0 as recommended by rep, yet it does not have quite the oil control as the original DW formula.

Changing the formula and the colors of this make up has been very upsetting for me. I have used this product for years and got compliments on my skin and makeup all the time. I have to find another foundation and I dread the process. The new double wear does not match and it did not last long on me like the old one did. I wish you would put it back the way it was.

Purchased this without realizing the formula had changed. Hated the application. Returned it - I ended up getting a bunch of samples from various brands (including samples of diff. colors of this from EL), and now I am still considering purchasing this product when I complete my samples.
I ended up purchasing a stippling brush to use to apply a different foundation and have found it works WONDERS compared to a traditional foundation brush to apply this product. I can build the coverage better and it looks very natural. Its not as thick/full coverage as the previous formula, but I think on a whole makeup is trending toward a more natural look.

Great Foundation

I have been using this product for more than 10 years. It is the best foundation for my skin. It is lightweight and provides long lasting, stay-in-place coverage. I believe the formula had changed and no longer provides SPF protection, however I always apply an SPF under my foundation anyway. I am very satisfied with this product.

I love the new formula! It looks more natural and the colors are better. The old formula looked more like a mask when I wore it and it cracked around my eyes. The new formula blends better and gives me a polished look. I hope EL doesn't go back to the original formula!

After reading all the negative reviews I was a little worried about trying the new formula. I asked the sales lady about the new formula and she assured me that it still worked the same as the old formula which is not true. The old formula had enough coverage to cover up all my redness and imperfections. When I applied the new formula I could barely tell I even had makeup on because I could still see the redness in my cheeks and all my other imperfections that I have. Luckily, I still had some of my old Double Wear left and was able to use it where I needed more coverage. I have tried so many foundations trying to find a replacement for Double Wear but Istill haven’t found anything that comes close to the old Double Wear. :( Please bring it back!!

I used to use this years ago, and came back, even after seeing the negative reviews about the change. I still think it's a good product. Good coverage, good for humid weather, but still feels good.

I must be one of a few very lucky ones. I have been using Double Wear for so many years I lost count. I loved how long lasting it was on me. After I got up, I put on Double Wear. It's my daily routine. After that, I usually go to the gym. After two hours of exercise, my make up is still fresh and flawless. However, there was no color match for me so I have to mix 3w0 Warm Creme with Tawny. It's the con that I had learned to live with and became an expert of mixing the right shade.
However, when I recently ran out of Warm Creme, I went out and bought the new one without knowing that the color is not the same. I mixed it with Tawny as usual, but it got too dark. I was so surprised, so I compared it with the old bottle which have a small amount left and found that the new bottle is a bit darker. So I tried Warm Creme alone without mixing it with Tawny, and guess what, the color was PERFECT. I am so HAPPY. I feel sorry for those who no longer have color match, but for me I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new formula. Thank you EL :)

I cannot believe this foundation does not have better reviews. I am a makeup junkie and have used TONS of high end foundations. None of them last as long as this one or look as great on my skin. As soon as I tried this foundation, I feel in love. Note: I was usually switching foundations every 2-3 months in order to find something that made me want to stop looking and this is it:) I get TONS of compliments on my skin and I could not be more happy with this foundation. It is by far my favorite of all the high end brands I have tried and trust me...I have tried almost all of them. I would highly recommend that if you are going to purchase this, go and let one of the Estee Lauder makeup artsy match you. I had one match me and the color is a perfect match for me (color: Cashew).

OMG what have you all done with the wonderful makeup you have had for so many years. My color Peeble 04 is no where near the shade I used to wear. I hate to search for another makeup. DW was my go to for everything. It stayed on from dawn to dark. Please do like coca cola did and bring back the original

How Could You Make Such a Change???

Many who wear foundation do so, not to enhance, but to cover. The face can't be covered up. Scars from acne keep me in makeup, even if the only thing I do is go to the mailbox. I even walk my 4 miles for exercise with makeup. Your product has been the ONLY one, after much searching, that allowed me to exercise in the heat and humidity without feeling self-conscious. Why did you have to change? The lasting power is no longer there, the "perfect" shade for me is gone, and it doesn't hold up in humidity. With your beautiful models, you forget that many NEED this makeup emotionally! You have let so many down. For me, the search begins again. Where? I had already looked and tried many things, at a great expense. The reps at the counters didn't explain the change. They acted unaware as I kept asking for 2N2 Fresco. The multiple stores I went to just said, "We don't have it." The sunscreen was also very important to me. I use to trust you cared about SKIN CARE. This is a troubling experience for me. Change for the sake of change is unwise.

I bought this product when it first came on the market and LOVED IT! Since they've changed formula and shades, I'm so disappointed. Cannot find the right shade for my very light skin. It doesn't stay on as well and it does get into the pores. I'm 63 years old and I need MY SHADE AND FORMULA BACK! EL must have lost a lot of customers on this move. If they want to improve on something...go to fragrances! Now they could use some improving.

Before the new revamped formula was recently introduced I wore Double Wear for years and loved it. The only minor complaint was sometimes it would seem too dry for my skin. Then several months ago EL decided to revamp the formula and colors even though some of the major stores either denied the change in formula or some seemed to have no clue or would not say. Oh, they changed the formula!! It now has no staying power and does not cover at all as it also now sinks into my pores. I have since changed brands much to my dismay. According to other reviews I am not alone in my disappointment.
