I have never used a primer before, but needed a boost with my foundation. This is perfect, it's very light and smooth. It makes your face look flawless. Definitely worth the extra step when applying your makeup. Love it.

Not only does this primer make my complexion look wonderful, but I have noticed that my skin feels softer, too! I've always avoided primers, thinking them an unnecessary step, but now I can't imagine not using this fine product.

I never used a makeup primer before until I tried a sample, now I'm hooked. My makeup stays in place and my face never gets that oily feeling. Won't go without again!

OK - I admit it! I thought using a primer was an extra step & expense I could live without. HOWEVER, after receiving a small tube in a kit, I found out how wrong I was.
You only have to use a small amount and my makeup goes on so smoothly and stays in place longer. I immediately ordered a full-size tube.
It will be a staple in my makeup routine from now on.

I tend to have oily skin on the forehead, nose & chin areas that can break through the makeup by mid-morning. This primer helps to reduce the oiliness and keeps the makeup intact most of the day. A huge improvement, well worth it!

Best Primer I've Ever Used!

I am 45 with combination skin, and troublesome pores. I am a makeup "junkie" and have tried EVERY primer that hits the market. This is by far the best I have used. It begins as a lotion type texture allowing you to really massage it in those trouble spots (t-zone, tops of cheeks etc.) It dries down beautifully leaving a soft and smooth surface to wear under makeup or alone. It does not flake like I have had happen with some others. My tzone is usually shiny by lunchtime with other primers. With this, I am matte and fresh until I wash my face before bed! I simply love this stuff and think I have found "THE ONE" I've been searching for. I highly recommend it. Oh! Almost forgot...it does hide large pores!!!

For me the best primer from all primers I ever tried, helps my face stay matte almost all day, and it doesnt break me out!!! I gave four stars because sample I've tried worked a little bit better, and I wish products would work the same as samples.

I use the matte perfecting primer before applying my makeup but the shine is back on my forehead and nose in less than half hour after use.

I'm a long sufferer of oily skin and was delighted when I discovered the matt perfecting primer, that is the old one in the blue tube. However, I'm so disappointed with the 'new version'. It is completely different texture and doesn't even come close to its predecessor. I am having to apply powder constantly to combat the oil. My face feels gluggy and needs powder just an hour after putting on my make up. It would appear the person who redesigned it doesn't suffer from oily skin and obviously doesn't use it. :(

I have oily skin and this product did not keep my face from getting that shiny look by the end of the day. Disappointed because I really love Estee Lauder products and have been using them for years.

Can't Get Any Better

Best For: people who can't use powder because their skin is
I have extremely dry skin and cannot use a face powder to get that beautiful, velvety matte look. This product does that for me without drying my skin or making my makeup look caked. It just leaves the makeup looking beautifully smooth, velvety, and without any shine that my moisturizer would normally leave it looking. And my skin still looks fresh and dewy. One precaution: you must use a minimum of a concealer with this product or it will look heavily applied. This product actually reduces the amount of concealer that I have to use! I am almost 67 and most people mistake me as being in my 40s. I am an Estee Lauder fan all the way!

This primer worked tremendously on the areas of my skin that weren´t too oily, which are my cheeks and chin. My forehead and nose are still as oily as before. I will still buy it because I guess there isn´t anything better in the market. Also Estee Lauder doesn´t bring the oil hydrator to my country, Nicaragua. I´ve spent more than 600 dollars on Estee Lauder products in just 2 months. My skin got better, but I still have the same red acne marks. I would recommend this product to those who have moderate oily skin but not super oily. Give the product a try.

OMG...I have finally found my HG Primer. Over the years I've tried several Mattifying products and none have lived up to their name. Please, Please, never discontinue this product. I cannot go a day without it.

I have been using primers probably since they were first introduced - meaning...I have tried A LOT of primers! This is by far the BEST primer I have come across. It not only conceals pores and blurs fine lines, it keep my skin matte (without being overly drying) and my makeup in place all day. The added bonus is that this primer is fragance free, does not contain alcohol and it's loaded with anti-oxidants (all good for your skin ingredients). Estee Lauder you have knocked it out of the park with this primer! I pray you always keep this in your line and never change or discontinue it because you have a lifetime customer in me...thank you!

I have normal to dry skin and this product made my fine lines under my eyes and around my mouth more visable even if I applied a hydrating moisturizer before it was applied. Sorry just not for me, so i am sending it back.

I have tried so many primers from dept store brands to drug store brands with NONE living up to my expectations or it's claims. That was until Estee Lauder came out with one for us oily skinned gals!! This primer does exactly what it says. I am amazed at how it works just because I've tried so many and they have failed me. I use DW foundation (have for years) and LOVE it but I always got oily and had to touch up a bit, but not anymore! The primer makes the foundation go on so smoothly that I'm using less product, makes my pores almost invisible and best part...KEEPS MY OILY SKIN IN CHECK without drying it out or appearing flaky! This is by far the Holy Grail of primers for us oily skinned gals!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
