I would like to thank Jayce from Palm Harbor, Florida. I have been an Estee Lauder user for years and every 3 or 4 years they decide to change my blush color/name on me. I have been using "True Sand" for years and LOVE, LOVE the color. It was first named Desert then changed to True Sand and then Discontinued. I was lucky enough to find an educated representative when they changed it from Desert to True Sand. She told me that the color was exactly the same they just changed the name. Until now I have spent alot of money on different blushes because I was told True Sand was no longer. ALONG COMES JAYCE WHO POSTED HER COMMENTS ON MARCH 3. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO DISCOVER BECAUSE OF JAYCE THAT "TRUE SAND" IS NOW "LOVER'S BLUSH SHIMMER. I am so excited to run to the mall to pick up my new Blush. I contacted Estee Lauder and they told me that the color match was Alluring Rose; but, it seems to have too much red in it. I Think I will go with Jayce's choice. Thanks again JAYCE.
On a separate note, Estee Lauder you might consider letting your associate's and customers know what new color is replacing old or discontinued colors.
I've used Estee Lauder products for 20+ years, esp the skin care. One of my favs in make-up was Berry Light cream blush. I was very disappointed to learn the cream blushes had been discontinued, as the sales rep told me they had always been best sellers too. (please don't do this) I'm not a fan of powder blushes but decided to try Alluring Rose as it was the closest match to the Berry light and I really don't like it. There is alot of pigment in a very small application, so you need to be careful and have good lighting when applying or you'll end up looking like the entertainer at a children's birthday party. I will be looking for a new cream blush with another company.
I do not like the new line of blush. I have used True Sand Signature blush for years and miss it. I also used your previous line in Dessert. I have been an Estee Lauder customer for many years, but will have to find another line. Please bring back True Sand Signature Blush!!!!
Love Estee products...BUT..... this Pure Color Blush compact is AWFUL! I cannot get it open without breaking a fingernail....Really bad for anyone who has arthritis..Please make it eaiser for us 'older' ladies to use your products or we may need to go somewhere else.
I really like this blush, I'm surprised to see so much negativity about it. I have the Pink Kiss color, which is a lovely pink with just enough warmth in it. It doesn't turn too orange on my cooler toned skin, but does warm up and brighten my face nicely. It doesn't really have shimmer - but does give a satin-y look, just a glow. Yes, it is very pigmented - it takes just a touch of my blush brush to get a perfect looking, very natural flush. To me, that is a good thing - I will take forever to use up this amount of blush in this pan - making it really quite affordable when all is said and done. Now, as for the container - I initially thought it was difficult to open too, and did break a nail once or twice. Then I realized that the secret - at least with the one I have, is not to worry about trying to push in the little latch - just hold the compact in both hands, with each of your thumbs on one side of the opening, and pull. Opens pretty easily this way, and no more broken nails :)
The blush color is very heavy and the case is terribly hard to open. I had used the True Sand Signature silky powdwer blush for years and loved it --this is only so-so as it can make you look rather clownish if not applied very lightly. I wish the True Sand blush was back in the collection line.
I have been a loyal E.L. customer for some 20? years. I bought this new packaged rouge (pink kiss) and struggled to open the case several times. Outrageously difficult! I have decided to just leave the case open a bit instead of fighting the lock. Obviously, it will dry up very quickly. Who designed this disaster? Please help...
Honestly, all of these colors are so pretty. I bought 'Pink Ingenue' to go with my "everyday look". I just swipe a small amount onto my cheeks and it give my face a nice glow which is what I try to aim for when I wear makeup.
A little tip on opening the case is to hold the top side in your left hand with the bottom in your right. Push your thumbs down into the two separate tabs and with your left thumb (while pushing down) push the lid away from you diagonally with your right thumb (again, while pushing down) push the bottom tab of the case towards yourself diagonally.
You basically have to open the lid in opposite directions in a slightly diagonal direction if that makes sense. Hopefully Lauder will redesign the look.
This blush works well and stays all day. I had to find a new color, since the Signature blush that I used previously was discontinued, but I did find an acceptable color in the new blush.
The packaging, however, is terrible! It took considerable time to figure out that I had to press on the top edge of the case to open, instead of pressing a catch like other EL products. And the case was initially quite hard to open, although it did loosen up a bit with use. Makes me wonder if EL did any packaging testing before they released the product.
This is the third or fourth time over the years that my shade has changed color names, and style. From Desert, to True Sand, and now Lover's Blush Shimmer. The case shape and design also changes. This case does indeed look more elegant than those in the past, but the latch is difficult to open. I broke a nail, and have now put a piece of tape on it so that it no longer latches shut, as I had to use a knife after having broken my nail. Been an Estee Lauder fan for years, but this is a bit disturbing.
The color I chose is Wild Sunset, it's a a bright coral color, but I use a light hand when applying it, this color goes beautifully with the Peach Paradise lipstick by EL. The case was a little difficult to open when I first got it, but now opens with no problem.
I love the color and coverage, you do have to be careful of the clown look though! :) I HATE the case. The first few times it wasn't too bad, last night I was going to a party, could NOT open it, damaged nail polish, got a knife, damaged plastic, barely got it open! What's up with this? Fix it please!
I bought this at an Estée Lauder counter. The kind lady helping me had a terrible time trying to open the compact. Beautiful compact, but not user-friendly. She had long nails, so I thought that maybe it was because her nails were in the way! But since I bought it, I have wrestled with it every morning, and I have short nails.
The other complaint is that the pigmentation is INTENSE. I have to tap the brush, and then barely apply it, and sometimes go over it with powder. The lady at the counter warned me that this is stronger than previous blushes, and that if I apply as I normally would, my cheeks will appear to be on fire!
But on a positive note, it's a fine-quality blush that never streaks or appears chalky. And the fact that a little goes a long way means that it will last a long time! Overall, I would recommend it.
I would recommend this only if you can open the case. Fortunately it can be returned. I think this is an excellent blush with great color choices, however the case is almost impossible for me to open - when I brought it back, the salesperson tried a couple others and they were also very difficult - I can't waste time in the morning while getting ready for the day - let alone ever refreshing during the day! Please make a better case - and less bulky and heavy please!
