This is an absolutely lovely, divine even, cleanser. I bought it to replace the discontinued soft clean cream cleanser that I was using previously. This is an excellent choice. I'm so happy that I tried it, and strongly recommend it to anyone with sensitive /combination skin or normal skin or dry skin looking for a cream cleanser to replace soft clean. I like it even better than soft clean. Here's what's great: (1) Beautiful bottle/packaging -- heavy weight, clear bottle with gold detail; (2) Gentle cleansing; (3) Almost completely odorless; perhaps a faint smell of green tea (a main ingredient) when one first applies, but it is extremely, extremely, extremely faint, and does not last more than 2 seconds. Certainly it does not last at all after tissuing or rinsing off. I pumped some on my hand and left it there, and could not smell it at all after I'd rubbed it in. To me, this qualifies as odorless. (4) It seems like it's a lighter cleanser than the soft cream, which was probably a little too rich for my combination skin. Though I have a weakness for rich creams, Verite is probably more suitable for me. (5) Leaves skin feeling baby soft! So, there it is: a beautifully packaged, perfect cleanser for normal or sensitive or combination or dry skin! Enjoy!

A light cleanser

Previous reviewer stated the odor was a big negative, although I also find it a little off-putting, it's not so bad that I would not re-purchase this cleanser. It takes off the make up, rinses clean and doesn't seem too heavy. Other cleansers leave me feeling like I can't rinse enough.

Best For: people without seriously dry skin, people who don't mind a lingering strong odor, people who don't need true makeup removal
I have used Estee Lauder since I was a teenager (starting with the Sparkling Clean, then Perfectly Clean then the Soft Clean). Lately, as I have become older, I began noticing my cheeks were very ruddy after my shower and facial cleansing process. I read the descriptions here and thought this sounded ideal. It has been disappointing in the extreme. The lotion is super light (does not seem "cleansing" enough and it smells SO bad! I hoped the odor would wash off, but perhaps because I also bought the rest of the line (BIG mistake), the smell was only enhanced. I understand the CONCEPT of this line is "unscented", but certainly any scent at all would be better than this! I suppose my skin isn't desperate enough for me to feel the negatives (it also left my skin feeling tight and dry) in any way outweigh potential positives. I am hoping my husband who has TRUE super sensitive skin or even my teenage son who is just now running into the occasional bit of acne can make use of the product(s) since the money has already been spent. I doubt the odor would bother them as much with shaving products over them. Or, I could give it to my mother who will use anything. Simply, this is just not for me. It seems TOO mild to do much but leave a lingering odor (which is so strong I cannot even smell my Sensuous Nude AS I am spraying it, much less once I have worn it during the day). I have to hereby contradict the claims of "no smell". It really, really DOES smell and NOT in a pleasant way. Oh well.

I have been looking for a mild cleanser and did not even know EL had this line. Paula Begoun listed this as a Best Product and I agree. It is very mild, but cleans my skin without stripping it and leaves no film or dry feeling It is light and takes about 4 pumps for my face and neck. I use this morning and night followed by a serum. I am sure this will be a holy grail cleanser for me.

I have been using the "pink" EL skincare line for years now, with both Time Zone and Resilience. For whatever reason, I started to become unhappy with the "coating" that was left on my skin after using Soft Clean cream cleanser so I looked into alternatives within the EL line. I have read rave reviews on the Verite line so I gave it a try for the first time. This cleanser is WONDERFUL! It is very light and does not leave behind any kind of coating on my skin. I do remove my makeup first, then use this for max effectiveness. This is my Holy Grail cleanser and I hope EL never discontinues it!

Makeup Remains

Best For: sensitive skin/someone who doesn't wear make-up
The good: Pump bottle. Mild on skin.
The bad: Doesn't remove make-up as it says it does. Up until recently I did not know that some make-up remained on my face after using Verite. It wasn't until I happend to try a hydrator/make-up remover cold cream (from another company) that I got the shock as I tissued off the cold cream to reveal the white tissue tinged with the color of make-up after having first cleaned with Verite!
How awful to realize that all these years of having used Verite it wasn't cleaning my skin as it claimed.

Please Bring Back Spray Toner

I do like how this cleanser feels on my sensitive skin, but it doesn't remove every trace of makeup by itself. When I started using this line over 8 years ago, there used to be a spray toner. I miss it so much! It gently removed the last traces of makeup that the cleanser left behind, and you could also spritz your face with it if you wanted some refreshing, soothing light moisture. I would also use it if I was in the middle of a sensitivity reaction and it soothed on contact. Please consider bringing it back. I had to change to a different skin care line that has a toner because my face doesn't feel clean without one, but it isn't as good. If you do bring back the toner, I'll use Verite again!

I was diagnosed with Rosasea three years ago and have tried many products and medicines. Verite Light Lotion Cleanser is the only cleanser I used in my face. It does not irritate my face and calms my rosacea. In addition remove all my makeup. I abosolutely love it!!

My skin is dry and sensitive. Verite LightLotion Cleanser gently cleanses without dryness or irritation. I rinse it off as tissues are too irritating for my skin.

I have a very pink complexion and can get reactive sometimes... I use Re-Nutriv cleanser but find myself using this more and more because it is soothing and removes heavy foundation without tugging... It is a must for the winter... It also last forever... I have not tried the other products in the line but the calming fluid looks nice...

I have terribly sensitive skin to the point even cleaning it breaks me out and causes swelling. I was skeptical of this product as I have tried so many in the past, but I can honestly say this is the best cleanser I have ever had and well well worth the money. I never write reviews but on this Verite line of cream and cleanser it deserves it!!! It even takes off that hard to get eye makeup without tearing your skin up!!! Awesome product and I am hooked for life!!!

Best For: dry sensitive skin
I have very senstive skin and so many cleansers are too harsh for me. Add to that that I'm now in my late 40's and my skins getting drier with age. I've used EL cleansers before, but somehow I'd never heard of this one. I'm SO glad I stumbled upon it on the EL website. It is simply amazing - my skin feels fabulous after using it. It cleanses thoroughly but gently, doesn't sting or burn, smells light and clean - it's practically perfect!

This is the best cleanser. My skin is very senstive - anything it doesnt like, it will break out within minutes - but Verite cleanser used with toner and moisterizer will never fail. No need to ever wear base when using this. I recently ran out and my face shows it...never again!

Goodbye Rosacea!

I have battled rosacea for 20+ years using various skin care products on a regimental basis. I've consulted dermatologists, tried prescriptions, and even considered laser treatment to fight the continual redness and associated breakouts. But learning that laser treatment may still offer only a temporary solution brought me back to my search for a product line made for my specific problem. That is when I found Verite. It has totally transformed my skin! It not only controls the redness, but it keeps my skin clear and supple. For me, the Verite line has given the best results for controlling my problematic skin AND maintaining moisture balance.

This is the only facial cleanser I have used that did not leave my skin red. I have suffered for years with a red, irritated face. I could tell from the first use that this one was different. I got out of the shower expecting to see my usual red face .But, instead was pleasantly surprised to see...no redness! Feels wonderful and removed everything but my mascara.
