I recommend this product

I am now 65 and have been wearing Youth Dew since I was 18. I have tried many, many other perfumes but always go back to Youth Dew. When meeting anyone for the first time there is always a comment such as "What are you wearing or what a beautiful fragrance".
Youth Dew formula change ruined my signature scent
Date:August 14, 2012
Best For original formula all the time!
EL has taken the Divine Youth Dew Scent and changed it's formula. After 50 years of using this "Divine" Spray and dusting power I am devastated. The new fragrance is not the same. I see that there are so many complaints and we ladies are heartbroken. We get responses like trend market changes and other explanations but surely someone up in their corporate offices is reading and/or hearing the complaints? When Ms Lauder created YD she gave a precious gift to womankind. This is simply a treasure that should never have been messed around with. We have lost our signature scents. The new generation will never know what they have missed. They will try the new version and move on because it is nothing special now. The original scent was used by four generations of woman in my family. The fantastic clean, delicate, classy, sensuous all day smell is gone. The magic created by Estee , that I never could understand, was how she made this scent to have such staying power without being overpowering. People would stop me all the time and ask what I was wearing because they said I smelled so good. This happened constantly over the years everywhere I went. My husband loved this scent as well as my children and later my grandchildren. I never had the pleasure to meed Ms. Lauder but I feel in my heart that if she had been alive and it was mentioned to her that they wanted to change the formula she would have said something like this. "No, No, you don't mess with perfection" They tried to change coke and we all know how that went. What next? Change the color of the White House possibly?
I have used Youth Dew since I was 14 years old and I am now 58, this is not my Youth Dew. I do not know what Estee Lauder has done to this fragrance, but it is terrible now. I bought several bottles in a few different places thinking I must be getting bad batches or something, nope, they all smell the same. It is just not the same smelling Youth Dew that used to fill my home with that fragrant smell that was one of a kind. The bath oil and the parfum spray is so different now. I don't know who thought this was a smart idea, but it is terrible. If you are trying to go for a younger market,, it is really to bad. The users of Youth Dew that have been with you all of these yars are just not happy with this scent. People used to stop me before and ask what I was wearing, not anymore! It smells horrible now. My daughter stopped using it as well because she told me it just is different and smelled terrible and she will not wear it either. All these folks can't be wrong. What did you do to our wonderful scent? It is not the same at all... Bring the old Youth Dew back again... Please. I tell them at the fragrance counter, the smell is different, they tell me no it is not, oh yes it is!!! The people who have worn this all of their lives can't all be wrong...
I have so many times passed Youth Dew at the counter. I'd pick it up and look at it, afraid to spray it. What brown stuff! Surely it will stain and ruin my clothing! I asked once, "Does anyone actually BUY this stuff?" I was told, "Yes, all the time."
Well, there I was, tempted once again. I remembered how shocked I was, years ago, when a friend of mine hugged me and she smelled soooo good. She told me she wore Youth Dew and I was in disbelief, almost a bit jealous. So I sprayed it, once, just a half spray on my wrist.
I recoiled in horror, the obnoxious scent, overpowering me. But I knew to wait. I left the store and after about 10 minutes, I was sniffing my wrist. When I left the mall, 20 minutes later, I was still sniffing my wrist. On the drive home, I was just about inhaling the sleeve of my shirt! I could not get enough.
This is definately a fall/winter scent. Great for colder months when the leaves begin to turn brown and crunch under your feet.
I am 39 years old and by no means "old lady." This has become my signature scent, along with Azuree, which has a very distinct leather scent to it. I won't wear any other scents. Personally, for me, I do not want to smell like fruits and candies. Too many, probably 90% of the stuff on the market today smells like yummy stuff. It bores me to tears. Sorry, I want to rock the world! I can stand on my own, I am a stong woman and do not need to be coddled or babied by some "snuggly" comfort scent.
Youth Dew all the way! If you are unsure of the scent, I suggest spraying yourself immediately after getting out of the shower. I spray my stomache and under my arm, not so close to my neck or nose.It is just enough that I can smell it all day and not be overwhelmed. I have turned a new generation of my 20 and 30ish year old friends onto this scent.
After Estee Lauder built an empire on Youth Dew original frangrance, someone sititng in a room decides to change it because of "technological advancement" and " changes " ?? What ? Obviously someone needs to learn a old adage or two themselves ... Don't change whats working well ~ If you find yourself going back to the drawing board because sells have slumped in the YD area.... you might consider ... your customers liked it JUST The Way Estee originated it ~ I personally and many I know will purchase no more until it returns .... otherwisse on to testing a fragrance that will at least come close to YD. Revival I'm shouting to EL boardroom ~
When Youth Dew was first launched, my sister bought a bottle and it's packaging was a blue plastic type bottle with a gold cap and I always connected that with the wonderful fragrance. Years later I tried another bottle (different packaging now) and it smelled different but I thought it was just me. For some reason did the corporate people decide to update everything from the bottle to the fragrance? If so why not be loyal to your loyal customers and put everything back to it's original state? I would buy it again if you do.
I use to use Youth Dew in the 70's when I worked for a big department store in NYC. I did not know that they still had Youth Dew on the market until recently. I bought a bottle thinking it was the same wonderful scent. YOU CHANGED THE FORMULA! I told the women at the counter were I bought it, and she said OH NO. I said to her you were not even born yet. How do you know what it smelled like before. Are you crazy to have changed such a great scent? If you did not think that women would not notice you better get new chemists. I will not be buying Youth Dew again.
I sat next to a lady, and couldn't help but notice the wonderful perfume she had on. She told me it was Estee Lauder Youth Dew. I just had to have some. I bought the pricey perfume, but felt it was so worth it! I was very dissapointed, I couldn't believe it was the same perfume that the lady had on!! After reading some of these reviews she obviously had on the "older" formula. You ruined my great expectations!
I have worn youth dew for over 46 years and I love the smell of it on me. I receive many compliments about my perfume and I wouldn't change for anything. I get a little frightened each time I go to purchase my Youth Dew because I am so afraid it will be discontinued, please don't ever do that to me. I love, love my Estee Lauder Youth Dew
I have been using Estee Lauder Youth Dew since I was 9 and began wearing parfum. I have never wore any other cologne and will not, for I love the fragrance and would highly recommend this and other youth dew products to others. Please do not stop making this particular product. It is the the best!! Thank you for a lovely fragrance.
I was so disappointed that they changed the formula of my signature fragrance Youth-Dew. I had been wearing it for over 45 years and when I stopped into my favorite department store I just bought my box of it and headed home only to find out the scent had changed. At first I thought it was nose as you never know what menopause does to one but I really don't like it any longer. Please change it back...it's like the "New Coke" no one liked it so they changed it back! I hope you are listening!
I had never smelled this before and the only reason I bought it was because of the description (Oriental/Spicy...). When I received it, I sprayed it once on my wrist and smelled it all day. The longer I smelled it, the more I loved it. Now, after the last couple of weeks, I'm absolutely addicted to the smell. It's intoxicatingly warm, rich, and sexy. LOVE it!!
I have loved Youth Dew for 30+ years, and it has always been one of my two signature fragrances. Now, I discover that EL has changed its formula, confirmed by a customer service rep. Supposedly, this is because of "technological advancements and/or customer trends." To say I am disappointed is an understatement. At least my other signature fragrance remains true after 90 years on the market. Please, EL, bring back the original Youth Dew. Until then, you've lost yet another loyal customer.
I have used this perfume in the past, but I bought this as a birthday gift for my mother! This is the only perfume she uses! She's tried others over the years, but this one has been a 'constant' and is her absolute favorite. She always gets compliments on it.
Whoever had the idea that they could improve perfection should be relieved of their duties. The scent is now cheap and doesn't last. I assume the reformulation is an attempt to cut costs. I would pay twice the price to have the original Youth Dew back. Listen to your customers, I'm obviously not the only one who has noticed.
I've worn Youth Dew as my favorite Autumn/Winter perfume since 1965...I loved it and received so many compliments wearing it....Now it smells so cheap and trashy....I bought 2 bottles thinking the first was bad and they both smell the same...cheap ! I am so sad and disappointed with the new scent....why was it changed? I can't and won't wear it with the scent it has now... I feel like a part of me is gone....
