I received this perfume from my first boyfriend when I was eighteen, I have always worn only this scent. I always receive compliments on this perfume. When my daughters hug me they always say it smells like mommy, I am now a grandmother and know my grandaughter will feel the same way. I hope you make this forever, I also wish you would bring back the lotion and powder.

Best For: to malke every day a special occasion
It stays on the body all day and is so fragrant. It smells like the earth goddess dripping with diamonds, a very rich, earthy scent with floral hints. I love it . It reminds me of my best friend who lives out of town.

I like fragrances with a story to tell. And this perfume's story is such a lovely one: In fact I do understand why Estée Lauder kept this perfume to herself at first - and I am happy that she decided to share it with Grace Kelly and later on with all her customers. When I watch this wonderful actress in my favourite movie "Rear Window" wearing those exquisite Edith Head dresses, I always think "Private Collection" is just the perfect scent to match this stunning and sublime elegance of hers. This spirit of genuine and individual elegance will always be captured in "Private Collection" - what a thrill to wear this fragrance.

I have worn this since 1976. I smelled it first on Miss Indiana in a regional pageant, and i asked my mom to buy it for me! Nothing compares, everybody loves it on me! Still wearing it. miss the thick cream sachet.

This is my favorite scent! I first got this as a gift from my boyfriend now my husband in the early 80s! I love, love, love the body wash with this scent but haven't been able to get this in a long time! I could only get at Holiday time - please bring the body wash and body lotion back.....if only for the Holidays!

I have been a faithful user of this incredible and unique scent since the 80's. I honestly do not use any other perfume and I receive compliments every time I wear it. My husband of 23 years cannot resist the alluring scent and runs up to me the second I put it on. Please bring back the powder, I miss the gold shimmer so much.

In my 20's i was always told this was a fragrance for senior citizens. Then I worked for Lauder and tried it. It is a very beautiful ageless timeless fragrance. Perfect for late summer early fall. A little goes a long way and the fragrance lasts all day. If your like a green fragrance note, This is IT!

New to your website, I loved reading reviews of the products I have used over 20 years. I have worn Private Collection fragrance forever and am always asked what I am wearing. Always complimented, I agree with many other women in asking you to bring back the powder which is so beautiful with a sparkle in it, and I loved always using the creamy lotion on my body, but have to ask if you changed it when you changed the packaging to plastic? It seems different and not as rich. The only time I can buy the lotion is around the holidays when they sell as a set. Please change this in the department stores. You should promote this more to even the younger girls, they do not know what they are missing!

I first smelled this gorgeous fragrance on my 11th grade English teacher. The soft, haunting scent seemed to float behind her as she moved across the room. I asked the name of the fragrance and after she told me, I stored that info in my "Someday..." folder.
After I became a working adult--I couldn't wait to purchase my first bottle! The fragrance smells just as good on me as I remember it smelling on her. I understand that many department stores will no longer carry this fragrance. Although that is dissapointing--I'm glad it's still available online.
Please consider manufacturing the companion products (e.g. powder, body silk) again! This beautiful blend of green and floral notes continues to captivate me and others who smell it on me!

Best For: using after a shower
I have used the private collection perfume for years. I love the silken body lotion. After a shower I loved putting it on. I just recently purchased the lotion along with the perfume from your company. Now you say it is no longer available. Please bring the silken body lotion back. It is the best, and I know I am not alone in wanting it available again.

Private Collection is, in my opinion as a man, the best fragrance from Estee Lauder. The bright, herbal green opening and beautifully floral heart are never cloying. The perfectly blended floral elements create not a fresco of a flower but the real impression of a flower, its white, tender, delicate petals tickling your nose as it releases its pure, light fragrance. "Fresh" for once takes on a greater meaning in Private Collection; the green opening and mossy earthy base notes give the impression of an entire potted plant, roots and all, alive and fresh as can be. Let me tell you ladies; this isn't easy. Many have tried and very, very few have succeeded. There are no cotton candy notes here, nor will you find fabric softener, nor berries or fruit; this is just an utterly perfect floral, the rare specimen it is. Do yourselves a favor; throw away every fragrance you own that was made in the past 15 years and buy a bottle of this, for it is infinitely better and often less than half the price.
A masterpiece.
