Best For weak drab-looking nails
I have weak fingernails and had been using drugstore "nail strengthener." I happened to see Emily's blog on the new nude shades being offered and decided to add color to my "nail strengthener" routine. Lo and behold, I don't need anything but Estee Lauder Nail Lacquer to both keep my nails from splitting and looking beautiful. "So Vain" is a gorgeous neutral color, and I splurged on "Bittersweet" and "Purple Passion" for a ring finger splash of color. The darker colors show some wear at the fingertips, but all that is required is a little touch-up. Now my nails don't split, and I have glossy, vibrant color that doesn't need changing until my nails grow out.
Best For making your hands look instantly updated.
I am loving this very dark grey color. Shine is amazing and long lasting after handwashing and lotion. Wild Storm color is almost like a mood ring -- whatever color I am wearing is slightly reflected in its shine. It is fun to watch navy, black, and even khaki green show up in my nail color. I am new to non traditional nail colors as well as shorter lengths so this first experience has been very positive. Wonder why I waited so long to try. Really tired of the French Manicure look. I get many compliments and I do my own nails at home in bed. Color lasts a long time without chipping and is easy to reapply on top of old color.
Best For everything, pedicures, classy, rich colors
I wanted to see the colors in person before I chose which one to buy, they blew me away! The colors are so much more beautiful in person! The 'Black Turquoise' shown on the website doesn't do the true color of it justice, you have to see it in person, I fell in love! But, I chose the 'Black Plum' first. There are so many colors that I will have to have. Today I'm ordering the 'Enchanted Garnet'. After seeing this shade in person I knew I had to have it. I hope they decide to keep all of these colors rather than have some of them as a Limited Edition as they are too lovely to ....go away! Caviar will be next on my list, I'm laughing while writing this as I realize how many I will have to own. Colors are richly pigmented and I have never had any problems with chipping. If you are on the fence about any of these shades I highly suggest that you see them in person, I'm sure you will be as happily surprised as I was. I also have to mention the color 'Viper', it's a stunning green that isn't too green or gaudy, it's just simply perfection. Thank You Estee lauder for creating such spectacular shades!
I received a sample in Berry Hot, and like it so much I am purchasing a full size. I haven't had a problem with it lasting. I use another brand of base coat and a quick dry topcoat shinner. My manicures rarely last longer than three days, and this one lasts at least that long.
I thought it flowed very well, I am not sure why other people had a problem. And I was able to get full coverage over my neutral base-coat with just one coat. It went on smooth and shinny and the color is truly lovely. It is a happy color.
I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE Estee Lauder nail lacquer! It covers, it stays on without chipping for a long time. Usually, my nails start GROWING before it wears off! I use it on my toenails and it stays on for many many days without having to re-touch. It has never chipped on my toenails at all! I know when I use it on my fingernails, I'm not going to get somewhere and look down to see my polish starting to chip off. That just looks so tacky but it never happens with this brand. This is the best on the market! I have had 2 colors for 3 years and they are STILL usable. They don't get thick and goopy. Yay for Estee Lauder! I just wish there were more colors.
The purchase was easily made on line, and I thought I had bought just the right shade of nude. The package arrived and when I looked at the polish it looked really different from the on line photo. The shade was too dark to compliment my skin tone. I chatted on line with a beauty consultant who suggested another lighter shade. So I returned the nail polish via UPS and I am looking forward to using the new shade of nail polish.
I love Estee Lauder products.I have used the face care products since i was 19 yrs old and i am 69 now. The color shown on this polish is beautiful. When i opened it,the color is a horendously ,ugly, brown ,color.I will most likely send it back.
I applied the Rosa Rosa to a lady's nails and was surprised not only at how hard it was to apply evenly but at how vibrant the color turned out. Online the color appears darker and more purple. In person it appears medium red and dry on the nails it looks likea bright medium red/fuscia. Very high pigment. That said, the color is absolutely gorgeous, really flattering to a lady's hand. My friend loved it! So unique too. I don't ever think I've seen a red like it. Almost like a pink-red. But not a light pink. I took it down a few stars because it took several tries to get an even, flawless finish. Perhaps some of that was my fault, but in a fine line like Lauder, one expects nail polish to go on easily in a few strokes. It does dry fast, but that makes flawless application harder. I wanted to caution others that the colors may be brighter in person than they appear. It might be smart to visit the counter and ask for a swatch before buying.
I love to paint my nails but I hate when the polish doesn't last more than a day and starts chipping, it drives me crazy!! I bought the EL polish in METALLIC SAGE color (limited edition color from Modern Mercury Collection), but paying $19 + tax just for polish is insane!! I loved the color so much, I just bought it without hesitation. I polished this on Sunday night (3 coats to get that rich color) + nail drying drops... and it lasted one full work week (with only 3 nails that only chipped at the tip, which I re-polished and it still look like I just got a manicure at the salon). I LOVE the color... I LOVE the polish. I will be buying more. Thanks EL =)
I LOVE Estee Lauder's products and have used ANR and their foundation for years, but I can't believe so many people are speaking positively about the nail polish because even the counter ladies warned me about it.
It goes on streaky, lumpy and will peel easily. Even if you have a good base coat the top coat has a hard time binding and still goes on streaky and lumpy.
I've had better luck with dollar store nail polish in the past, at least it's only $1 if it does the same thing...
Estee Lauder nail lacquers are the favorites in my collection, and I have tried a range of both discount and luxury brands. Long-wearing, glossy and easy to work with, in unique, trend- setting or traditional shades. but please Estee, do a better job of online sales- the colors need to be more accurately represented. Please label the online exclusives(Insatiable)! Please send samples to reputable nail bloggers before the launch of new shades! and please stop giving LE colors(Dressed to Kill, Black Turquoise and Purple Velvet) several names- it only confuses the Sales associates. Thanks.
I have tried EVERY nail polish/lacquer/color product one could imagine and they all chip literally within hours of application. Estee's Pure Color Nail Lacquer goes on beautifully, dries quickly, and wears like nothing else. I polished with two coats and have touched up just to keep a nice shine, but there haven't been any chips...in over a week! Unheard of for me. I will not buy anything else again. I purchased Enchanted Garnet and cannot wait to try another color, that is, whenever I need to remove this polish!
